My IIM SKILLS Meta Ads Practice Campaign: One of My First Hands-On Advertising Experiences
Before running my independent TrueNest campaigns, I had already worked on a Meta Ads practice campaign as part of my digital marketing training.
At that point, I was still getting comfortable with the terminology and the way campaign dashboards present information. The campaign gave me an opportunity to move from theory into actual campaign setup.
The objective was lead generation. The campaign used a daily budget of ₹1,000 and went live on April 21, 2026.
This is an independent practice project created for learning and portfolio development. The results shown are specific to this experiment and should not be treated as a general benchmark.
What happened?
The campaign spent ₹847 and generated two leads. The reported cost per lead was approximately ₹423.
It also generated 215 clicks and 193 form opens. The CTR was 0.75%, average CPC was ₹4.39 and CPM was ₹29.92. The campaign reached 26,847 people and generated 28,320 impressions.

The image creative generated both leads during the campaign, while the video creative did not. Again, I wouldn't use this single experiment to claim that one creative format is always better. It was simply what happened in my campaign.
What I learned from this earlier campaign
Looking back, this campaign was useful because it gave me a reference point before I started running my own independent campaigns.
I started paying more attention to the relationship between impressions, clicks, form activity and leads. I also started to understand that getting people to click is only one part of lead generation. A campaign can have clicks without producing the number of leads you expected.
That means there are more questions to ask. Is the audience relevant? Is the creative clear? Is the offer attractive? Does the landing or form experience make sense? Is the tracking working?
Those questions became more important to me later when I started running my own Meta Ads campaign and my first Google Ads campaign.
